- Economic damage - tourists scared to come
- Environmental damage - salt means plants cannot grow

- Governments, charities and businesses - hundreds of millions in days
- Ships, planes rescue people and food and water - start of clean up
- Long term responses
- Billions of pounds - help rebuild infrastructure
- Programmes - rebuild houses and get people jobs
- Tsunami warning system
- Volunteers have been trained to know what to do
