- Raised lobe on the centre of the cephalon. Protects stomach and mouth. Inflated can act as a buoyancy
- Thorax
- Body of the trilobite behind the cephalon containing articulating segments. Covers central body parts
- Pygidium
- Fused jointed segments at the tail. Protects underside of head and allows it to roll up
- Glabella
- Raised lobe on the centre of the cephalon. Protects stomach and mouth. Inflated can act as a buoyancy
- Facial Suture
- Line separating free and fixed cheeks. Line along which trilobite moults
