  • Thyroxine and Adrenaline
    • Thyroxine
      • low thyroxine
        • hypothalamus produces TRH
          • causes pituitary to release TSH which stimulates secretion of thyroxine by the thyroid gland
      • high thyroxine
        • TRH secretion is reduced
          • reduces TSH and thyroxin levels
            • thyroxine levels back to normal
              • causes pituitary to release TSH which stimulates secretion of thyroxine by the thyroid gland
    • Adrenaline
      • heart rate and blood pressure
        • increases heart rate and blood pressure
          • by vasoconstriction
            • increase in blood flow around the body - specifically the muscles
      • blood glucose
        • liver converts stored glycogen back into glucose
          • raises blood sugar levels
      • Lungs
        • enlarges air passages of lungs
        • changes metabolism to boost delivery of oxygen and glucose to brain and muscles
