  • Charles VIII of France recognised him claims and welcomed him 
    • Charles probably used him to embarrass Henry and divert him while he attempted to annex Brittany 
      • In 1492 Charles made peace with Henry and so warbeck had to move back to Burgundy - where he was welcomed by Margaret
    • Perkin Warbeck
      • First appeared as a threat in Ireland in 1491 
      • He claimed that he was Richard of York, the youngest son of Edward IV 
        • When he revealed his true identity his relations to Burgundy suggest Margret of burgundy may have been involved at an early stage 
  • Because sir William stanly had been killed in 1495 for treason, he failed to raise much support in England when he landed in July 1495, so he sailed north to Scotland 
    • There he was befriended by king James IV and James granted him an annual salary of £1,200 and his cousins hand in marriage 
      • However James attempt to invade inland on behalf of warbeck in 1497 was a complete disaster 
        • Warlock didn’t like the Scottish soldiers brutality and refused to continue south with them  Warbeck fled to Ireland but revived no support and have himself up, making a full confession to whose really was and Henry calculated mercy and allowed warbeck to remain in court 
          • In 1498 he ran away and was impressed in the tower of London 
            • There he was invalided in plots to escape with the earl of Warwick but they were both executed in 1499
