- Proclaimed King of Dublin. People actually believed he was the Earl of Warwick
- 4 June Battle of Stoke. Lost- could not gain enough support
- Made turnspit in the royal kitchen and later promoted to royal falconer
- Perkin Warbeck 1491-1499
- Had the support of the French court and Charles VIII of France
- 100 Yorkists came out to support Warbeck (1491)
- Fled to Flanders after the Treaty of Etaples, sheltered by Margaret of Burgundy
- Got support from the Holy Roman Emperor
- went to Scotland but James' attack failed
- Imprisoned, escaped and then executed 1499
- Had the support of the French court and Charles VIII of France

- Limited their power by land and wealth
- Grown powerful during Wars of the Roses
- Use of attainders, patronage, attacks on retaining and financial control
- Threat of the De La Poles
- Edmund De La Pole was the closest Yorkist claimant & disliked that Henry did not give him title of Duke of Suffolk
- 1504 imprisoned the De La Poles- he was now insecure
- ECONOMIC MOTIVATION
- Yorkshire Rebellion 1489
- Triggered by the tax to aid Brittany against France (£100,000)
- Rebels murdered the Earl of Northumberland (sent to negotiate)
- Henry issued a pardon and never issued anymore tax
- Cornish Rebellion 1497
- Money needed to defend against James and Warbeck
- 15,000 rebels had marched to London
- Coincided with Warbeck, but not motivated to overthrow Henry
