    • The Phonological Loop
      • Phonological Store (Inner Ear)
        • Linked to speech perception

      • Visual Cache
        • Stores information about order and colour
    • Episodic Buffer
      • Temporary information store that is combined with the LTM
    • Strengths
      • The addition of the episodic buffer makes it more accurate as it explains why you can do two tasks at once
      • Applies to real life tasks  e.g. Reading (PL) and navigation (VSS)
      • KF - Brain damage, STM affected, impairment of verbal information but not visual
    • Weaknesses
      • The CE is too vague and does not explain a lot
      • Information which formed the WMM was taken from patients with brain damage, and their former condition was unknown
        • This means that casual effects cannot be concluded
      • Based on case studies, cannot generalise to entire population
  • Applies to real life tasks  e.g. Reading (PL) and navigation (VSS)
