    • 1. Shows Jesus being tempted to use His power to benefit Himself
      • Satan: "If You're the Son of God turn this stone into bread"
        • Jesus: Man does not live on bread alone
      • Jesus does not succumb to Temptation
    • 2. Shows Jesus tempted to build himself an empire
      • Satan: "So if you worship me, it'll all be yours"
        • Jesus: "It is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve him only"
    • The Devil knew the scriptures just as Jesus did
    • the Devil also quoted scripture in verses 10-12
    • The Devil knew that jesus was weak with hunger that's why he tempted Him
      • Then Left Him until an opportune time i.e until another moment of weakness
    • We are easily tempted like Jesus when we are weak, Jesus knew that it was not yet "His time"
    • Jesus is confident in scriptures
    • 3. Jesus is tempted to use his power to impress the world
      • Satan: "If you are the Son of God; throw yourself down from here, for it is written..." Satan quoted scriptures
        • Jesus: "Do not put the Lord your God to the test"
