            • Caliban- son of the witch, Sycorax, old master of the island, servant of Prospero
              • Ariel- a prisoner of the witch Syocrax, freed by Propsero. Is an ungendered, fairy-like creature, often seen as a girl
                • Trinculo and Stephano- Comic characters, less important members of the shipwreck, provide a contrast and is worshipped by Caliban and try to help him overthrow Prospero
                • Boatswain- Only in the first and last scenes, wakes up from a long sleep at the end of the play
