  • The Manhunt
    • War Language- bullet, scarring, damaged, fractured etc.
    • The body- chest, jaw, shoulder-blade, lung etc.
      • Body and war language- suggest injury and pain.
    • "to a sweating, unexploded mine buried deep in his mind"- scars are deeper, inside him (shell shock)
    • Poem about a wife looking after husband back from war injured and has shell shock.
      • Irregular rhyming couplet- shows unsteadiness of relationship, sometimes it is close and intimate and sometimes not.
        • Fractured structure of poem reflects his fractured mind and body.
