- Local people pay more for everyday items. Homes are expensive & some are second homes.
- Town can become noisy and congested
- Access to Chamonix via motorway is good but the rural roads are very narrow
- Footpaths get eroded
- Shops, cafes and restaurants are tourist - orientated and expensive
- Conflicts can arise between different people. Mass tourism - noise and damage to environment
- Chamonix maintained as an attractive town. Pedestrian streets give safe access
- Cleaner streets
- Tourism brings economic benefits, local jobs e.g. guides, hotel staff & sport instructors
- Extra income supports local services e.g. shops & transport/ healthcare
