  • The history of the periodic table
    • 1800's
      • In the early 1800'sonly about 30 elements were known. scienctists knew they behaved simlary but noticed simarlar properties aswell.
    • 1864
      • around 50 elements now known. John Newlands spotted a pattern, he noticed the properties repeated themselves after every eigth element. he called this the law of octaves.
    • 1869
      • demtri mendeleev devised a table that the modern periodic table is based on. he used the patterns to predict the properties of undiscovered elements.
    • modern
      • the elements are now aranged in order of atomic mass.
