    • Growing opposition in the south-eastern countries during July and august 1483
      • becomes stronger and more wide-spread, culminating in a series of rebellions across Southern England during the Autumn of 1483.
        • These rebellions became known as 'The Duke of Buckingham rebellions. However the rebellions were planned and had even started in the Kentish Weald before the Duke of Buckingham defected the rebels

            • Seemed unlikely on the surface
              • Buckingham had been well rewarded for his central role in the usurpation. In July he was granted constableship of all castles and stewardship of all lands in Shropshire and Herefordshire as they became available
