  • The Bishop's Book
    • It found the four last sacraments again and admitted their validity
      • They were deemed to be lesser sacraments because they were not to be found in scripture
    • Also emphasised the idea that justification through the merits of Christ did not dispense with the need for good works
    • Two such orthodox statements of faith were counter-balanced
      • The primary function of priesthood was to preach the word, not the offering of Christ to the mass
    • The administration of the sacrament took second place to preaching and the Mass was mentioned only twice
    • No distinction was made between the office of bishop and that of priest, anther deviation from orthodox catholicisim
    • The Ten Commandments were renumbered to highlight the mistaken practise of worshipping graven images
