    • Article 231- The war guilt clause meant Germany had to accept full responsibility for starting the war.

    • The Saar (an important industrial area of Germany) was put under the control of the League of Nations for 15 years.
    • The German Navy was limited to 6 battleships and the sizes of other ships was limited.
    • The German Army was limited to 100,000 men and conscription was banned.
