    • The relationship between fathers is sometimes different. Research shows that this is not biological but there are factors in how it develops:
    • Degree of sensitivity
      • Father who show sensitivity to the needs of their infant develop secure attachments
    • Supportive co-parenting
      • The relationship between the father and the mother affects attachments.
      • Brown suggested that supportive co-parenting affects the attachment they have.
    • Types of attachments with own parents
      • In families, where the father is the care-giver the attachment with their child is similar to their own parents
    • Secure attachments to the father has positive benefits for the child including how to form better social relationships and having more emotional control
    • Evaluating whether fathers are different
      • Fathers have different roles from mother in nurturing. Hardy found out dads were not as good as mums at detecting distress in children, suggesting lower nurturing abilities
