  • The Problems of Evil and Suffering
    • What kind of God would let evil and suffering happen?
      • - God can't be omnibenevolent, omniscient and omnipotent if evil and suffering exist.
      • - God can't be omnibenevolent, omniscient and omnipotent if evil and suffering exist.
      • -if he was omnibenevolent he would want to stop it.
      • -if he was omnipotent he would have the power to do something.
    • Examples
      • E.g. of suffering: cancer, earthquakes, tsunamis.
      • E.g. of evil: Hitler and the Holocaust
    • Criticisms
      • God could have allowed evil/suffering as part of a test or as a punishment.
      • Suffering could be the result of human free will.
