      • The plate the UK sits on use to be on the tropics, then it shifted away.
      • Convection currents cause magma to rise, quickly cool and formed rocked land (uplands)
      • During uplift, some rocks snapped, moved along during faults in earthquakes.
    • Glaciation
      • Ice age happened 100 years ago
      • Rivers created V shaped valleys, however after Ice age, ice built up and as glaciers moved it took rock with them, making U shaped valleys.
      • As glaciers melted, they left features like Malham Cove with its spectacular water fall
    • Geology
      • Calcium carbonate crystallized around the fragments and cemented them
