- Pennines
- Tectonic Processes
- The plate the UK sits on use to be on the tropics, then it shifted away.
- Convection currents cause magma to rise, quickly cool and formed rocked land (uplands)
- During uplift, some rocks snapped, moved along during faults in earthquakes.
- Glaciation
- Ice age happened 100 years ago
- Rivers created V shaped valleys, however after Ice age, ice built up and as glaciers moved it took rock with them, making U shaped valleys.
- As glaciers melted, they left features like Malham Cove with its spectacular water fall
- Geology
- Calcium carbonate crystallized around the fragments and cemented them
- Tectonic Processes
