- 1. In september1931 there was an explosion o the south Manchurian railway. The Japanese army claimed the train was attacked by Chinese soldiers
- 2. the Chinese denied this and said all their soldiers were asleep at the time
- 3. The Kwantung (Japanese) army use the event as an excuse to take over manchuria
- 4. The people of Japan were delighted with the victory and celebratedin the streets
- 5 .In 1932 Japan renamed Manchuria to Manchukuo. Then put an ex-emperor in charge as a puppet ruler so they could control him
