- Support from the local authority to face society as ‘normal’ human beings.
- The Act ensure that PWUS with mental health issues are not responsible for their condition.

- Sectioning may cause stigma towards the individual.
- Does not take into account and individuals Human Rights.
- New forms of community care are not considered

- May need the PWUS to be 'sectioned' so they can be treated
- Why the Act was needed.
- Give clear guidelines of what to do and how to treat someone if they are 'sectioned'.
- Gives practitioners the right to make decisions for the PWUS.
