        • The group reached the West Coast in 1805 and returned with their findings.
        • The expedition resulted in greater scientific and  geographic knowledge of the west.
    • USA had increased confidence and power because Louisiana territory was a large amount of land.
      • Louisiana Purchase helped US establish itself as a nation.
