    • All Christians see good conduct as important, but do not agree in how to go about putting it into practice.
    • Range of views about why good conduct matters:
      • Christians should obey the teachings contained in the Bible which is the word of God.
      • The KoG will be realised on earth via the way in which Christians care for eachother.
      • Christians give glory to God by the way they live.
      • Individual good conduct will be rewarded with eternal life in heaven.

    • Disputes leading to different ideas
      • In the 16th century, western Christianity was torn apart by the Reformation.
        • There were bitter disputes that resulted in war between the Catholic Church and the Protestant Churches that came into being.
      • One of the areas of disagreement was concerned with justification.
        • Justification = being counted as rightous before God/ what a person has to do to be rightous.
    • 3 ideas imparticular cause dispute:
      • Justification by faith.
      • Justification by works.
      • Predestination
