  • The Environment
    • Chirtsian Attitudes
      • God created the world, so we should respect and look after it, as it it not wholey ours.
        • "The earth is in the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." Psalm 24:1
      • The earth was given to us by God, so we should use it to our benefit (and not worry about the effects we have on it).
        • "Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Genesis 1:26
      • We are "stewards" of the earth. It is our duty to protect and nurture it.
      • What we do as humans should not affect the environment. Whatever wars, conflict, advancement, etc...
        • When you lay siege to a city for a long time, fighting against it to capture it, do not destroy its trees by putting an axe to them, because you can eat their fruit. Do not cut them down. Are the trees of the field people, that you should besiege them?Deuteronomy 20:19
    • Islamic Attitudes
      • It should be left as Allah created it, and we therefore must not damage it.
        • "There is no altering the creation of Allah." Surah 30:30
      • Brotherhood.
        • If we destroy the earth now, the next generation will not have such a plentiful world to live in, and that is against their idea of brotherhood.
      • Judgement Day
        • The belief that when one dies, they will be judged as whether to go to heaven or hell. If you respect the environment , you will go to heaven.
      • Khalifah
        • The belief that we are stewards of Allah's world.
      • Tawhid
        • The concept that Allah created everything in unity. If you damage one part of an ecosystem, you will upset that balance.
