      • is generated from the sympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system
      • it is a reflex response that helps you manage physically when under threat
      • helps an individual react quicker than normal

        • increased heart rate - improve the spread of adrenaline
        • faster breathing rate - increased oxygen rate
        • muscle tension - improves reaction time and speed
        • pupil dilation - improves vision
        • production of sweat - regulates temperature
        • reduced functioning of digestive system - saves energy for prioritised functions, eg running
