  • The Council of Ministers
    • The Government of each nation in the Union sends a representative to the Council
      • This is usually, but not always, the foreign minister
    • The member states take it in turn to provide the President of the Council, each for a 6-month period
    • To assist with the day-to-day work of the Council, there is a committee of permanent representatives
      • Known as Coreper
    • The Council is the principal decision-making body of the Union
