  • The endings are all the same for the regular verbs (that end  in en)
    • Present
      • Some of the regular verbs do not end in en (they end in -rn or -ln
        • For the -rn verbs, you take off the 'n' and add the endings
          • ich ==> e          du ==> st    er ==> t     sie ==> t     es ==> t     wir ==> en   ihr ==> t    Sie ==> en   sie ==> en
            • However, for the ich form, you miss out the 'e' that is before the 'r'
        • For the -ln verbs, you take off the 'n' and add the endings
          • ich ==> e          du ==> st    er ==> t     sie ==> t     es ==> t     wir ==> n   ihr ==> t    Sie ==> n   sie ==> n
            • However, for the ich form, you miss out the 'e' that is before the 'l'
    • Examples of the regular verbs are: machen (to make), fragen (to ask), glauben (to believe), buchen (to book), kaufen (to buy), erklären (to explain and tanzen (to dance)
    • Take of the en and add the new ending.
      • ich ==> e          du ==> st   er ==> t     sie ==> t    es ==> t    wir ==> en   ihr ==> t   Sie ==> en   sie ==> en
