  • Systems of redress: Local complaintes procedures
    • Formal: complaint must be written and dealt with by the local authority's designated complaints officer.
    • Informal: attempts to resolve concerns at local level. Complaint does not have to be written.
    • Review: an independent person leads a panel which may require the people involved in the complaint to attend the hearing. Their conclusions are made as a recommendation to the Direcor of social services.
