- Binocular depth cue
- Allows us to see one image when presented with two side by side
- One image from the right eye one image from the left eye
- Uses both eyes at once
- When we look at an image with both eyes, our brain forms one perception
- The image on the right and left retina
- The two images are combined
- Works out depth by comparing the views from the left and right eye
- Once the images from both eyes cross over at the Optic Chiasma, they can be compared
- If the two images are very similar, then the object is far away
- If they are quite different then the object is much closer
