  • Stationary waves
    • The points on a stat wave that do not move are called nodes and the points where the wave has max amplitude are called anti nodes.
    • Stat wave is formed whenever two progressive waves of the same amplitude and wavelength travel in opposite directions.
    • Separation of two adjacent nodes: ?/2
    • Seperation between adjacent node and antinode: ?/4
    • We can determine speed of the progressive wave by using v=?f
      • Wavelength can be determined from the seperation between two neighbouring node or antinodes.
        • Stationary waves doesnt have a speed and they dont transfer energy between two points.
