    • January 1919, Spartacist members staged an attempted uprising in Berlin.
    • 5th Jan 1919, Spartacists captured the HQ of the government newspapers and telegraph bureau.
      • No other buildings taken over.
    • Uprising was very badly prepared.
    • 15th Jan 1919, the Freikorps crushed the uprising.
      • 10th Jan 1919, they took over the Spartacist HQ.
    • 100 Spartacists killed, only 13 Freikorps dead.
    • Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht were murdered.
      • No communist leaders or supporters.
