    • System Software
      • Your computer's operating system (OS) manages all of the software and hardware on the computer.
      • Utility Software
        • Anti-Virus is computer software used to prevent, detect and remove malicious software.
        • Firewall – Is a program or device that acts as a barrier to keep destructive elements out of a network or specific computer.
        • Disk Clean-up – Is a computer maintenance utility included in Microsoft Windows designed to free up disk space on a computer's hard drive. 
        • Defragmentation – Is a process that reduces the amount of fragmentation.
        • Backup – This refers to the copying and archiving of computer data so it may be used to restore the original after a data loss event.
        • Anti-Spyware - Is a type of program designed to prevent and detect unwanted spyware program installations and to remove those programs if installed. 
    • Applications software include such things as database programs, word processors, Web browsers and spreadsheets.
    • Software that allows you to using a mixture of sound, pictures, film, and writing. An example of multimedia software would be iTunes or Windows Media Player.
    • Bespoke software is software that is specially developed for some specific organisation or other user.
    • Specialised software is a software that is specially designed for an individual or company's specific needs. 
    • Generic software contains any software which is not limited to one use.  
    • Integrated software is a software for personal computers that combines the most commonly used functions of many productivity software programs into one application. 
    • Vector Images
      • Layers are used to stack on top of others, merge or join to create a final image.
    • Bitmap Software
      • Freehand art and photographs use bitmap software.
    • In-Betweening or Tweening is where the objects are drawn in their starting and ending positions and the computer draws the frames in between. 
    • It is much quicker than drawing individual notes on paper which is extremely time consuming and can often be difficult to read.

    • Multimedia Presentation
      • Multimedia – a combined use of different media such as text, pictures, moving images or sounds.
      • Interactive – allows users to input choices that affect their path through the material.
