- Socialization
- Refers to the process of learning which starts at birth and end at death.
- There are 4 types of socialisation
- Primary Socialization
- Is the acceptance and learning of a set of norms and values established through the process of socialization. Typically it starts with the family ( ex. at home)
- Secondary Socialization
- Is the process of learning what is appropriate behavior as a member of a smaller group within the larger society (ex.watching tv)
- Formal Socialization
- When people deliberately set out to change how you act,learn skills, values and norms (ex. teachers in the school).
- Informal Socialization
- Is learning without an institution or a formal procedure.
- Primary Socialization
