- observation - people see other peoles behaviour, behaviour must grab our attention eg carried out by role model
- imitation- process of copying someone elses behaviour. no need for imitator to be rienforced. who is imitated depends on wather they are a role model or not
- vicarious rienforcement - indirect rienforcement - when the model is rienforced for their behaviour. the model being rienforced makes it more likely the observer will imitate that behaviour
- instrinstic rienforcement - internal reward eg feeling happy, not needed to learn behaviour
- extinstic rienforcement - external reward eg praise and money
- stages of SLT
- attention - the behaviour must be noticed otherwise learning doesnt occur
- retention - the behaviour attended to must be stored in the memory
- reproduction - must be able to carry out the behaviour
- motivation - incentive to carry out the behaviour, vicarious rienforcement, before the behaviour is done or after the behaviour is done
