    • Assumptions
      • Behaviour is learnt through experience and observation
      • Vicarious reinforcement-we learn by seeing how others are being reinforced , if punished less likely to imitate, praised more likely
      • Assumes mental processes thought, attention, motivation, memory are important to how we learn
      • We dont always imitate the behaviour we observe, the social conditions need to be right
    • Strengths
      • Different to behaviourism because it says we have some free will because we think some things through
      • Better at explaining human behaviour, behaviourism can expl animal behaviour
    • Weaknesses
      • SLT ignores biology, says we learn purely through nurture
      • Doesnt explain all behaviour e.g may not observe criminal behaviour but become a criminal
