      • Secondary - law breaking which are illegal under international law but not necessarily enforced such as dumping of hazardous waste.

      • Capitalist ideology - Hasley and White suggests countries and individuals put economic growth before the environment due to consumerist society and therefore exploit it eg GM crops which contaminate surrounding land in Zambia.

    • Analyse two ways in which globalisation can promote green crime
      • Encouragement of capitalist ideology - White shows how the drive TNCs have for profit is coupled with ability to easily move production despite environmental harm to take advantage of lack of pollution laws.
      • Globalised market has meant governments are keen to increase economic development and therefore Snider suggests they are reluctant to pass laws that will inhibit this growth such as anti pollution laws (China)
