      • Pope Francis 2016: : “If a person is gay & seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge? (The Guardian, 26 June 2016)…He went on to say that the Church should apologies for the intolerance it showed previously

        • Some countries this is punishable with stoning
        • Many partake in consensual open relationships, is this good or bad for the relationships.
      • -      Jesus taught it was wrong & that remarriage is adultery
      • It was acceptable in the OT. Abraham had a concubine as did Jacob.
    • Bible Teachings
      • Old Testament
        • Very old fashioned views on relationships
        • Men were able to have multiple wives & concubines. While women were expected to be virgins & lust / desire their husbands.
        • After the fall it seems that the purpose of sex is to reproduce
      • New Testament
        • Considers other purposes to relationships.
        • Jesus was less judgmental and encouraged faithfulness. He taught that sex could be fro production, fidelity and union. It makes 2 become 1.
        • However, teachings on divorce were still quite strict. Suggests that remarrying after divorce is is actually adultary
