    • House building targets and housing affordibility
      • Rising population, divorce rate, and overseas investors taking up housing means there is a demand for housing
      • Gov have a long history of being involved in housing supply e.g. Labour fostered social housing, Thatcher introduced Right to Buy scheme
      • Demand for  social housing in Cornwall grew by 40% between 2010-2011
    • Permission for fracking
      • Department for Energy and Climate Change can give permission for fracking
      • Could provide energy security, reducing need for imported gas
      • Is controversial environmentally, and also debates about how land should be used e.g. for housing instead
