- Random sample
- Small group of people that have a equal chances of being selected.
- EG: National Lottery
- Each person in the sampling frame gets a number
- Stratified Sample
- Mirrors the distribution of particular groups in a large population.
- Snowball
- You choose a specific group of people and pass on a questionnair. They then gin and pass it on
- EG: Singles mothers would do the questionnaire and pass it onto other single mothers
- It builds up like a snowball
- Systematic
- You use a sample frame and choose every 5th or 10th person
- Qutoa
- You set quota to things such as: Age, Gender, Ethnicity and Social Class
