  • SAM (Sympathetic Adrenal Medulla)
    • Stimulus (spider) activates the SAM system
      • Hypothalamus in the brain activates the Adrenal Medulla
        • A signal is sent to the Adrenal Medulla to release adrenaline and noradrenaline
          • Response to the body as a consequence of this:
            • Increased heart rate
            • Increased breathing rate
            • Sweating
            • Non important bodily functions stop temporarily: Digestive system
