- It's when a person is cruelly killed because they did something bad.
- They would have to carry a wooden cross up through the town whilst wearing a cloth as clothes. The people jeered and threw things at the person.
- They are then hammered into the cross by their hands and feet. Then they are to bleed/starve to death.
- The guards would stab them to make sure that they were dead. If they weren't then they would definitely die then.
- When a person dies they are taken down from the cross and buried.
