- Power of love- Love makes both Romeo and Juliet disobey their families, and even leads to death. But their love is true, young and passionate.
- Petrarch- Romeo is shown at the beginning as a typical Petrarchan hero as he loves Rosaline from a far. But when he meets Juliet he releases it wasn't true love, " Did I love till now?"
- Power of love- Love makes both Romeo and Juliet disobey their families, and even leads to death. But their love is true, young and passionate.
- Symbolism
- Romeo and Juliet is filled with light and dark imagery throughout the play. Light-good and morning. Dark-evil and night. However darkness in the play hides the lovers and allows them to meet without getting caught.
- Juliet: "Give me my Romeo; and, when I shall die,Take him and cut him out in little stars"
- Romeo:“But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.”
