        • He shows his love for Bassanio by lending him money , so he can go and see portia.
          • It means borrowing money from Shylock , which Antonio is strongly against but will for Bassanio .
        • Antonio is happy to see Bassanio go , as he knows he will be with the woman he loves.

          • Jessica and Lorenzos love is forbidden - thye are of different religions , this is why she elopes.

      • Portia marries Bassanio
        • Portia nad Nerissa forgive their husbands for giving up their rings ,and return them . Bassanio and Gratiano pledge they won't make anything more important than their wives .
          • Nerissa marires Gratiano
            • they hardly know eachother - will it last?

          • The prince of Morrocco thinks the lead casket is unworthy and cant be compared to portia- he fails to see that beauty can be wirhin a person rahter than just on the outside .
        • Bassanio has to borrow money to go to venice to pick a casket . possibly desperation of wanting to have Portia as a wife .
