  • Rights and Responsibilities
    • Moral Decision making
      • Only using the Bible
        • Word of God so it's gods guidance to humans.
          • Contains teachings of how Christians should behave (Decalogue)
            • Records events in the life of Jesus
              • Only way you can be sure that your decision will be approved by God.
      • Wouldn't use Bible
        • It was written by humans so there may be mistakes and attitudes need to be changed to todays world.
          • Need the church to tell them what the bible means today.
            • Use conscience instead
      • Follow their Conscience
        • The voice of God and its god directly speaking to you
          • The church says you should follow your conscience as if it's God directly speaking to you.
            • St Paul taught that you should use your conscience as the final part of moral decision making.
              • Teachings of the church come through bishops and popes but a conscience is god directly speaking to individuals.
      • DONT follow conscience
        • People have heard the voice of God telling them to do bad things.
          • If God's voice is mistaken then this could happen for the voice of conscience.
            • Teachings of the bible are what christians agree is the right thing to do.
              • If everyone followed their conscience, there would be chaos and people wouldn't know what kind of behaviour to expect.

          • Bible is the word of god so should be the basis of decision making
            • Should follow the decalogue rather than own ideas
              • The church knows what's better to do than yourself.

          • Christians must have the legal right to believe in christianity and to share their beliefs.
      • Can cause problems because...
        • Many christians are against the form of civil partnerships as its against gods will
          • Some christians are against the right to marry a person of a different faith as their child must be brought up christian.
