- Reversible Reactions
- ONE WHERE THE PRODUCTS OF THE REACTION CAN THEMSELVES REACT TO PRODUCE THE ORIGINAL REACTANTS
- Closed System= no reactants, products or energy can get in/out
- Equilibrium means the amounts of reactants and products will reach a certain balance and stay there
- Pressure
- Changing pressure changes amount of products made
- Many reactions have greater volume on one side, either of products or reactants
- Raise pressure produce less volume
- Lower pressure produce more volume
- Reactions taking place at exactly same rate in both directions
- Temperature
- All reactions exothermic in one direction, endothermic other direction
- Raise temperature - endothermic reaction will increase usage of the extra heat
- Reduce temperature - exothermic reaction will increase, give out more heat
