    • stress
      • Mental or physical distress caused by pressure or difficult circumstances
        • relaxation: form of stress relief
          • listen to music, yoga, hobby
            • reduces heart attack, improve memory, helps immune system,
        • Meditation
          • Buddhists: practise meditation to get rid of bad emotions( hatred and anger etc)
      • unable to concentrate, changes in behaviour (tearful, aggressive), smoking/drinking,
    • Leisure
      • enables beleivers to participate in life of their faith and learn about religion
        • religious youth clubs, summer camps, community service
    • pilgrimages
      • mecca, Lourdes (Christian, appeared to marie Bernadette 18 times, up to 6 million visit and miracles have happned there
    • gambling
      • advantages
        • good for local economies (Las Vegas), fun, win lots of money , rules and regulations
      • disadvantages
        • addiction, isn't regulated well, families harmed, less likely to lose
        • Islam: should give to charity as 5 pillers if gamble you wont have money to
          • 'believers, wine and games of chance, idols and divining arrows are abominations devised by satan
        • Christianity: gambling leads to unhealthy personality traits (anger greed etc.) which hurts families. also Jesus said its easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven)
          • 'people who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction'
        • Hinduism: the winners win at the expense of others this leads to bad karma
    • drinking
      • Buddhism: drinking alcohol takes your mind away from god and the path to enlightenment
        • I will not take drugs or drink that confuse the mind
      • Judaism: encouraged to drink during Purim to represent happiness so you cant separate enemies and friends
      • god created you and you should look after your body as alcohol destroys it
        • C= your body is a temple of the holy spirit
        • I; make not your own hands contribute to your own destruction
    • sport
      • improves concentration, fights anxiety, improve physical skills
      • Buddhism: morality is based on right action/intention, actions based on ignorance greed etc are immoral eg boxing
      • Christianity: sport is good as long as it doesn't become more  important than god and also keeps god given body healthy
      • Islam; physical fitness is encouraged as long as it includes modest dress
      • Holy days
        • some religious believers believe they should keep Sabbath free including: Sabbath for Christians, Shabbat for Jews and jummah for Muslims
        • Islam: ramandan is where you fast as its a test from Allah swt and tougher the test greater the reward
      • morality in sport
        • fair competition: same weight, equipment, age, salary
        • Unfair: PED's, better training, crowding a referee, illegal tackles
          • PED's
            • dishonourable, cheating, stealing, illegal, dangerous
            • Christinaity: lying lips are an abomination to the lord but those who deal faithfully are his delight
            • Hinduism: do not do to other what  you wouldn't want to you
            • Buddhism: right action
    • devotion to sports fans
      • songs, chants, memorabilia, mementos, pilgrimage, symbols
    • sponsorship:
      • Advanatges
        • go from amateur to professional, more opportunities, better training, invent in talent, imcrease talent
      • disadvantages
        • limitations in personal life, not be successful,  a sponsor may pull out leaving the club suffering
