      • Commitment: Where you make vows and promises to be faithful

      • Contract: Formal agreement, a marriage contract is a legal bond between bride and groom
      • Covenant: Binding lifelong agreement before God
        • Responsibility: Being accountable for your own actions and doing your duty
    • Contraception
      • Buddhism:: acceptable if not for selfish reasons, cause abortion =forbidden
        • "Do not harm living beings"
      • Judaism: large family is a blessing, accept for financial reasons, affect moms health, sterilisation forbidden as it damages body
        • "Be fruitful and multiply"
      • Some muslims: Don't allow as believe Allah will give the strength to cope with many kids, agree if wife health at risk, oppose any methods if cause abortion
    • Marriage
      • Buddhism: Grow spiritually in a marriage, ideal marriage is in respinsibilites set out in scriptures
      • Islam: Expected to marry, gives husband and wife rights under Allah, believe love will develop in a marriage not before it
      • Sikhism: Have a duty to marry, God intended it, union which is witnessed by God and an opportunity to become 1 spirit in 2 bodies

        • advantages
          • excitement, love, deep bond and connection, already know them
        • Disadvantages
          • messy, pick  the wrong person, end in divorce, not have failies support
      • arranged marriages
        • advantages
          • financial security, family happy, better understanding of lifestyle and religion , low rate of divorce
        • Disadvantages
          • love comes second, too formal, might nit fall in love, interference from family
    • Adultery
      • Christianity: Destroys promises made in front of God threatens stability for a child's security
        • "you shall not commit adultery"
      • Islam: Serious sin in Islam, Quran says its shameful and opens ways to other evils
      • Judaism: Adultery is a serious sin and you must got divorced
    • Divorce
      • Some Christians: Divorce is wrong but can be granted an annulment, not able to remarry is former parter is alive, some Christians allow it if they take their vows seriously
        • "whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery
      • Islam: divorce hateful to Allah, permitted as a last resort, must wait 3 months to see if wife's  pregnant and allow reconciliation, husband must return dowry
      • Judaism: Can divorce if you don't love each other and all attempts of reconciliation have failed, must obtain a religious divorce a 'get' to break the marriage contract
    • Religious wedding ceremonies

    • Sex before marriage
      • Islam: Muslims believe sex is a gift from God, enjoyed responsibly in marriage, dress modestly and avoid tempting others, punishment includes flogging
      • Judaism: Jews belive sex is a creation of God and before marriage can lower a persons self respect

      • Sikhism: forbidden, lust is one of the 5 evil passions, should avoid dancing or mixing with the opposite sex
