  • F214 REGULATION OF INSULIN LEVELS
    • 1. The cell membrane of the beta cells contain both calcium and potassium channels
      • 2. K iion channels ate normally open. so Ca ions channels are closed. K ions diffuse from the inside to ouside of the cell freely, making the inside of the cell -ve with respect to the ouside
        • 3. When  the glucose concentration outside of the cell is high, glucose molecules diffuse into the cell
