  • REASONS why Bismarck was DISMISSED
    • 1881: Liberal parties WON seats- Conservatives LOST seats
      • This meant that Bismarck could NO LONGER DEPEND on the REICHSTAG
    • 1884: Liberals were putting PRESSURE on the Reichstag to end the fact that they only had a say EVERY 7 YEARS over the ARMY BUDGET
      • Bismarck DISSOLVED the Reichstag & produced a WAR SCAVE
        • He was COVERING HIS OWN TRACKS- TAKING DEMOCRACY AWAY
          • CONSTITUTION INEFFECTIVE
    • The COLONIAL POLICY led to his dismissal because it won the SUPPORT of the CONSERVATIVES
      • This caused a problem because the conservatives only PROTECTING their PEOPLE, & Bismarck was only thinking of HIMSELF
    • The Kaiser's belief of 'RULING BY DIVINE RIGHT OF KINGS' took over
      • Bismarck had to ANSWER TO the KAISER
        • However, Wilhelm gave most of his POWERS to BISMARCK
    • BISMARCK LOST SUPPORT of WILHELM
      • Wilhelm QUESTIONED the need to MAINTAIN the REINSURANCE TREATY with RUSSIA
        • DISAGREED over SOCIAL POLICY
          • Wilhelm was confident he could WIN OVER the WORKING CLASS, by a MODEST EXTENSION of the WELFARE SYSTEM
          • BISMARCK favoured REPRESSION, proposing the ANTI-SOCIALIST LEGISLATION to be made PERMANENT
            • Whereas Wilhelm wanted this WALTERED DOWN
              • Wilhelm was confident he could WIN OVER the WORKING CLASS, by a MODEST EXTENSION of the WELFARE SYSTEM
