  • Re-armament
    • 1933
      • Withdrew Germany from the World Disarmamet  Conference on the ground that no other power was prepared to disarm.
      • Withdrew from League of Nations
    • 1934
      • Signed a non agression pact with Poland; each country agreed not to  attack each other for the next 10 years.
    • 1935
      • Consciption introduced. Hitler justified this by pointed out that other countries were building up their armies and Germany needed protection.
      • Britain signs a naval agreement with Germany - allowed to Germany to build a fleet but only 35% of the size of the British fleet.
    • British view
      • Accepted it as they though the T of V was too harsh.
        • Wanted a strong Germany to act as a buffer against the communist USSR.
