    • Greer advocates for matrifocal families which are female led. To be seen as a wife is a woman's greatest role and political leaders reinforce the idea of inequality in marriages as women are trophies to make they're husbands look good while re rarely heard
      • Wilmott and young suggests that the family is now symmetrical- and more equal so this is wrong
    • Oakley- post industrialisation saw the establishment of the housewife women were more confined to the domestic sphere
