  • Quasi experiments:
    • Definition:
      • Conducted in the everyday environment of the participant.
      • IV occurs naturally and is not manipulated.
    • Strengths:
      • Very high ecological validity due to natural environment.
      • Less chance of demand characteristics as they are not aware they are participants.
      • Good for use in situations where manipulating the IV would be unethical.
    • Limitations:
      • No control over extraneous variables which may affect the results. Reduces reliability.
      • Can be more expensive and time consuming.
